Multilingual dictionary
MIDDIM was a Multilingual Interactive Dictionary which allows any user to send on-line comments for every dictionary entry, either to indicate possible errors, or to suggest further synonyms or equivalent expressions in one of the three languages available.
MIDDIM, Multilingual Interactive Dictionary, offered the following lookup searches:
* Language. Your search may be done in Catalan, English or German.
* Search type. There are five types of searches:
o Words and phrases. You should enter a canonical entry, a flexed form or a phrase. MIDDIM supplies the following information:
+ Canonical entry or phrase of the search at hand, as well as phrases containing it.
+ Morphological analysis.
+ Image (video or sound).
+ Definition (in Catalan).
+ Synonyms.
+ Possible translations into the other two languages.
+ Suggestions and commentaries from the user.
o Flexed paradigms. You must enter a canonical entry. MIDDIM supplies the following information:
+ List of corresponding flexed forms.
+ Morphological analysis for each form.
o Syntactic analysis. You must enter a syntactically correct sentence. MIDDIM supplies the following information:
+ Syntactic tree of your sentence.
o Final fragments. You need to enter any final fragment, either from a canonical entry or a phrase. MIDDIM supplies the following information:
+ List of canonical entries and phrases ending with the fragment at hand.
+ Basic morphological information.
+ Image (video or sound).
+ Definition (in Catalan).
+ Synonyms.
+ Possible translations into the other two languages.
o Initial fragments. You need to enter any initial fragment, either from a canonical entry or a phrase. MIDDIM supplies the following information:
+ List of canonical entries and phrases starting with the fragment at hand.
+ Basic morphological information.
+ Image (video or sound).
+ Definition (in Catalan).
+ Synonyms.
+ Possible translations into the other two languages.
